Colleen joined the in a later version of a folk band named 3’s a Crowd Bruce in 1968. The band also included Cockburn, David Wiffen, Richard Patterson, and Dennis Pendrith.

She also joined the band TCB and left it after recording an album on the Traffic label. Peterson was cast in the Canadian production of Hair in 1970.

In 1971, she formed the band, Spriggs, and Bringle, with Mark Haines after moving to Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Again in 1974, she moved to Nashville, United States. Peterson released her first solo album named Beginning to Feel Like Home in 1976. She also gave a hit single in 1977.
